Limitations of Existing Solutions
Both approaches have clear limitations:
Relative positioning, or incremental positioning, loses the position after power failure. After restart, the system must spend time searching for the terminal floor, so recovery is slow.
Absolute positioning with magnetic tape retains position after power loss, but magnetic tape must be installed along the full shaft. It occupies space, affects aesthetics, complicates installation, and introduces friction noise and wear.
Traditional approaches struggle to balance efficiency and aesthetics. The market needs a new system with complete position information and hidden installation, so functionality can truly serve spatial design.
